Ok, we all know the shows and what it’s all about, it’s about saying YES to the dress, but when is it ok to say NO to the wedding dress? Finding a wedding dress is just as important as finding your dream partner in life. Finding the ideal wedding dress is one of the biggest tasks ahead of you when planning your wedding day. It’s one day where all eyes are on you, maybe some on your husband to be but mainly you LOL.
So when to say no to the wedding dress, when is it just not the one and not right for you. You should ask yourself these questions and if the answer is no to anyone them, get that stupid wedding dress off you right now Hun!
Do you love it? You need to be 100% sure on this one and if you’re not 100% or you don’t get that rush when you see yourself in it, it may be time to pass on this one. You may like it but love is so much more important when purchasing a wedding dress.
Can you get it in time? It’s vital to ensure a wedding dress can be made and ready for you before you fall in love with it. Going wedding dress early will help you here but it’s a good tip to find out how long the designer takes to make the dress and is it in time for your big day. We suggest that you go wedding dress shopping up to 6-12 months before the wedding day. So say no to the dress or don’t even put it on your body if the signer can’t turn it out in time.
Can you afford it and the alterations? A big no no is trying on wedding dresses that are too far out of your budget, most of us can go a little over our budget and that’s fine but some dresses can easily cost up to 30 and 50,000 so don’t even try them bad boys on. Ok, so you’ve found your dream dress, but the costs don’t stop there. Remember you most likely will need to fork out for alterations so keep this in mind when thinking about the budget available to you for your wedding dress. Can’t afford it, say NO.
Is it comfortable? Yes the dress can look stylish and on trend but you’ll be wearing this dress all day and for this reason we think it should be comfortable and should you want it be able to get onto the dance floor and mix it up. The end of the night and after many drinks you’ll want to get down on the dance floor with all your family and friends so a comfy dress that you can move in will be key here.
We hope the above helps you identify when to say no to the wedding dress. Just remember it’s your wedding dress and no one else’s so it’s what you want and no one else. You’re paying for it and wearing it so pick what you want.
Happy wedding dress shopping ladies.
