So exciting your finally engaged and are now ready to start planning your dream wedding. You may think that you know it all and you don’t need help when it comes to planning the wedding day.

1. Borrowing money to finance the big day is the biggest pitfall that any couple can find themselves in. Never spend more than you can afford on your wedding, no one wants to go into debt to fund a wedding.
2. Not organising night transport for your guests is a big no no. This is vital if your wedding reception is remote, people will thank you for it.
3. Leaving for your honeymoon on the night of the wedding – this is a very old fashioned style and something that was the norm back in the day. Couples old dash off during the reception and leave all their guests partying, this to me sounds horrendous and I would hate it.
4. Skipping the wedding cake is not a good idea when it comes to your wedding day planning. The wedding cake makes a great centerpiece for any wedding.
5. Get the right DJ – a DJ can either make or break a wedding, noon one wants to have an empty dance floor at their wedding so do your research before picking your DJ.
6. Picking cheap booze – this may seem like a good idea at the time and a great way to cut costs on your wedding day but we suggest you don’t opt for cheap wine for the wedding reception. Investing in this and food is a good call.
7. Don’t let the speeches go on too long, guests will thank you for it. We’ve all been there the wedding where the speeches just never ended, like never ended…. A good option is to have the speeches in between courses that way people will be getting their bells filled and won’t mind.
8. Don’t cheap out on the food, just like on the wine, skimping on the food is a bad idea, people more than likely won’t remember what they ate at a wedding but they will remember if the wedding meal was bad and you don’t want that.
9. No Snacks – Give your guests snacks – don’t be scabby when it comes to snacks before the main meal, people usually have a long wait from the church to the main meal as your off getting your pictures done, so for that reason you should provide some snacks to keep them going.
10. Don’t cheap out on the photographer, we have to look at the pictures for the rest of our Lives and there is no going back so get the pictures right.
