Say what now! Yes it’s true, being in a relationship can make you fat. Scientists have now confirmed it, you’re more likely to pile on the weight when your in a relationship. A recent study that was carried out in Australia looked at data going back as far as 10 years and consisting of a study of over 15,000 people. They analysed this group of people to determine whether you actually do put on weight when your in a new relationship.
The study revealed that people in a relationship weight more than those who were single. Weirdly enough the study did find that people in a relationship tend to eat more fruit and vegetables and single people are more likely to smoke and excessively drink.
So why do couples pile on more pounds than their single counterparts? They revealed that couples just eat more than single people. People consume more food when eating together than they would if they were eating alone. Another reason people in a relationship can put on weight is because they just don’t watch their weight. A single person is on the lookout for a mate and wants to look their very best so they watch what they eat and workout. Being in a relationship makes you feel comfortable and you can eat more than you would be if your single.
I think whether your in or out of a relationship, you should always choose a healthy lifestyle and maintain a good BMI. Looking good for your partner is also very important, just because you’ve found your soul mate doesn’t mean you just let yourself go. Keep it real!
